She'll Fly

She sits by the window
Staring at the cloudless sky
She wonders, she hopes
Someday she'll fly
She doubts her abilities
She questions her courage
She feels frail
She feels lost
She waits to find herself someday
She waits to find a way
She's patient though she burns
Will she rise from the ashes, she wonders. She hopes.

She dreams
She dreams big
Her dreams give her a  high
She's a fighter
She's the winner
Her dream is to fly
She's the phoenix
She will rise from the ashes. She believes.

The White Globe

I wonder what it would be like to be a part of a white globe. It would be just plain white and serene as the color itself. No boundaries to divide countries, and may be a lot of snow to add to the “whiteness.” No black lines that divide different places, but only colorful cultures that help us know which one’s India and which one’s China. Without lines it will be tough to demarcate one country from the other. But at least then we’ll know the difference between latitudes and longitudes! That might be how we’ll have to locate where we are on the now green-brown-blue ball that we call the globe. With no borders and territories, it would feel great to be a world citizen. This might be a distant dream for a lot of us dreamers. No harm in dreaming though, as we never know, one fine day the dream might come true. The dream has a globe where people hold no grudges, a world where wholesome happiness is the only emotion that exists. People in the white globe would have unpolluted white minds. There would be no war and no winners, no terror and no terrorists, no fights and no fear, but only peace. I would love to be a part of that white globe.

Confined

I can hear the wind whistling
I can hear the rain's rhyme
I can hear the the birds chirping
I can imagine the trees swaying
In the midst of the mundane
I am confined
Confined in the arms of monotony

I want to feel the whistling wind
I want to feel the rain
I want to see the chirping birds
I want to see the swaying trees
I want no longer to be confined
I want to be free
From the confines of the inevitable
The inevitable monotony

The Monsoon Musical

As raindrops kiss the parched earth
And quench her thirst
We're treated with a pleasant petrichor
While the pretty performers prepare for a show
A show for all us earthlings
Everyone's served, not just the first

Here comes the monsoon musical
With a script like no other
And characters so unique
They bring for us song and dance
A performance that takes us to trance

One by one come the performers
First come the raindrops
That dance carelessly in synchrony
To the symphony of rainfall
A beat here, then one there
And then here and there

Then sneaks in the graceful lighting
For a special appearance
And lights up the show
While thunder the drummer
Drums in the backdrop
Always out of sight
Be it day or night

True to their roles
The performers play selflessly
The previous year and this one
They'll visit next year too

It's their season
When they need no reason
To do what they do
Not a bit of dreary drama
That's for us
The monsoon musical

Destiny's Trail

There's a mighty mountain,
Hidden behind a blanket of mist
Invisible to the eyes of the ignorant
Visible only to the one looking forever

It stands in all its might
Calling out to the lover
Showing the way
To tread the trails of destiny

Shades of The Sky

The sun goes down the horizon
Leaving the sky a crimson red
Soon the dusk takes over
And spreads a shade of gray

The black of the cloudless night
Wraps around its blanket
Dissolving all the colors
Leaving behind a hope
That it'll end with a new day

"Not so soon," says lighting
And lights up the night sky
Streaks of light dance around
Then comes thunder play

These are the shades I see
On a rainy day
Waiting for the shades of tomorrow
The shades of the sky
On yet another new day

Elements in Conversation

The tall green blades of grass
Nod in appreciation
Of the breeze that makes them sway
In conversation with the sun
That shines bright upon them

A soft spoken army man
With a thin smile and a thinner mustache
Adorning his face
In conversation with an elderly gentleman
An army man as well

Hay roofed huts
And open fields
The tuk-tuking tractors
And the water pumps
In conversation with the happy farmer
The one who brings them to life

The birds flying home
In the clear blue sky
The chugging train
On an ever high
These are the elements that surround me
The elements in conversation

Meaningless Melancholy

I feel numb
And lifeless to the core
I feel so lonely
With just sorrow at my door
All I can see is darkness
With not an ounce of light
My heart trembles
With the weight of the world
I can no longer put up the fight
How I long to feel
All that is pure
The warmth of the sun
The chill of the frosty moon
The rain on my skin
And ocean azure
Free me from this meaningless melancholy
Or melancholy of sorts

Oh Wind

Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to fly with you
Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to touch the sky so blue
Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to climb the mountains
Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to feel alive again
Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to go places with you
Wait for me, oh wind,
For there's so much to see and I've seen so few
Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to be as free as you
Wait for me, oh wind,
For I wish to be you

Live in The Moment

Here comes the new year with lots of 'new' in store,
Hope it brings more happiness than afore,
Before you realize, this year too will come to an end just like the last,
So do all that you've wished to do in the past,
And live the life you've thought of living,
But for now, live in the moment.

Very rarely do people know what they want to do,
If you are one of them you're one of the lucky few,
So live the life you've thought of living,
But for now, live in the moment.

The ups n downs, the good and the bad,
Remember them all,
Good memories and the wonderful dreams,
Will take you places and make you the best of all,
So live the life you've thought of living,
But for now, live in the moment.
